Terms of use
Short version: it's a portfolio. Read it, link to it, quote it with credit. Don't copy it wholesale or pass it off as your own, and don't treat anything on it as professional advice.

01What this site is
olegnar.com is the personal portfolio of Oleg Narainen: a record of academic results, hackathons, projects and interests. It is informational. It sells nothing, hosts no accounts and takes no payments.
By using the site you accept the terms on this page. If you don't, don't use it.
02Who owns what's here
The writing, design, layout, source code and photographs on this site are mine and are protected by copyright.
Third-party names, logos and marks that appear, whether universities, hackathons, tools or clients, belong to their respective owners and are shown to identify the thing being described. Their appearance here is not a claim of ownership and does not imply that those organisations endorse me or this site.
03What you may do with it
You are welcome to:
- read the site, and link to any part of it;
- quote short passages, or show a screenshot, as long as it is clearly attributed to Oleg Narainen and points back here;
- save a copy for your own private reference.
Without asking me first, please don't:
- republish the content or the design as your own, in whole or in substantial part;
- use it commercially, or as part of a product or template you distribute;
- scrape it in bulk, or use it as training data for a machine learning model;
- alter it and present the result as if it were mine, or otherwise misrepresent who wrote it.
Asking usually works. Email me.
04Accuracy
Grades, dates, project descriptions and results are given in good faith and kept current as far as I can, but the site is maintained by one person between coursework and may occasionally lag behind reality. Nothing here is a formal academic transcript or an official statement from any institution.
Nothing on this site is professional, legal or security advice. Anything written about security tools or techniques describes learning done in lawful, authorised contexts: coursework, CTF competitions and hackathons. It is not an instruction to try it anywhere you don't have permission.
05Links elsewhere
The site links out to GitHub, LinkedIn, Instagram and other third-party sites. Those are not under my control, and I am not responsible for their content, their availability or what they do with your data once you are there. Their own terms and privacy policies apply the moment you follow the link.
06Using the contact form
The contact form is there so people can reach me. Please don't use it to send unlawful, abusive, deceptive or infringing content, bulk or automated messages, or anything designed to compromise the site or its recipient. I may ignore, delete or report messages that do.
What happens to what you send is set out in the privacy notice.
07Availability and liability
The site is provided as it is, with no guarantee that it will be available, error-free or uninterrupted. It may change or go offline at any time, without notice.
To the fullest extent the law allows, I am not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or inability to use, this site or anything you relied on here. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
08Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Mauritius, and the Mauritian courts have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them. If you are a consumer elsewhere, this does not remove any protection you have under the mandatory law of the country you live in.
09Changes
These terms may be updated as the site changes. The current version is always the one on this page, with its date at the top; continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
